What’s in the box:
300 plugs, 15 native perennials. Each is grown from seed, by us (see complete list below).
Covers about 300 sq ft. It can stretch from 200 to 350 sq ft depending on how densely you plant.
Blooms from spring to fall. The mix is staggered so there’s always something flowering, from late spring through the first frosts.
Built for pollinators. Every plant is a host plant for native bees, butterflies, and other insects, providing food and a place to raise their young.
Where it grows best:
Your meadow will be happiest in full sun. It”s designed for as many flowers as possible, so it looks its best planted next to native grasses. Grasses fill in between the blooms, shelter wildlife, and make a fuller, more natural meadow. If you have a grassy edge, a field margin, or a stretch of lawn you’re ready to let grow wild, that’s the perfect spot.
Join our pilot season!
This price won’t come back. Meadow in a Box is brand new, and you’d be one of our first growers, so you get the best price for joining in this experiment with us! That makes you part of how it grows too:
Nature has a say. We grow every plant with care, but living things don’t come with guarantees. Weather, soil and wildlife all play a part, and we can’t promise how each meadow will turn out.
Your box may vary. If one of our 15 varieties has a tough season in the greenhouse, we'll swap in another New England native that fills the same role.
Show us your meadow. We’d love to see how yours grows. Pilot growers will get an invitation to share photos through the season, and they’ll help shape the future of Meadow in a Box.
